As we create this new page, 3rd June 2009, skydivers are falling from the sky over Galle Face Green to mark the finale of Victory Day Celebrations over a war between successive Governments of Sri Lanka and the Tamil Tiger terrorists. Much is yet to be accomplished to achieve a lasting peace and a unified country where discrimination of minorities is a distant memory in the minds of all communities in Sri Lanka. However, after many difficult years, there is now a palpable sense of optimism and hope amongst Sri Lankans in all parts of the country.
